In 1984 Orlando Koekkoek started his sheet plant in Dalfsen as Orko-Pak. A fire in 1986 destroyed the complete plant. In the years after, Empee joined for 50% and the company moved its location to Zwolle. In 2003 Orlando Koekkoek soled his part of the company to Kappa Packaging.

Following the merger between Jefferson Smurfit and Kappa Packaging in 2006 our name changed to Smurfit Kappa Orko-Pak.
